Our 4th return visit to the White Doe Inn. Celebrating our Anniversary at this special gem on the Outer Banks. From easy check in to the delightful ambience of soothing music throughout the property including happy hours with scrumptious food. Breakfast is a delight as well! The rooms are cozy and well managed . This beautiful vintage home has something for everyone whether you just want to sit in a rocking chair all day or need the place to stay while you explore the towns and coastline . The owners Tonia & Dave are attentive & gracious ensuring our stay was nothing less than wonderful!

What a fantastic way to spend our Thanksgiving! The stay was worth it just for the food! Tonia kept us well fed with multi-course breakfasts daily and a wonderful Thanksgiving feast. We had a great time visiting with other guests at the Inn and spending the holidays learning about their adventures. Scratch cookies were left out for guests and included chocolate chip and oatmeal. Delicious! We stayed in the Turrett bedchamber with a wraparound balcony, fireplace, and updated bathroom. Very cozy. Free street parking was ample right outside the Inn. We will visit again!

The White Doe Inn was a pleasure to stay at. The decor and general aesthetic surrounding the inn were just as charming as the pictures show, the location was perfect for the activities we had planned, and the owners were very accommodating! It was easy to get help through text, and there was plenty of complimentary food between breakfast, happy hour, and other sweet treats. I honestly wish I had gotten to eat more of it while we were there. They were even kind enough to serve us breakfast late since we aren't exactly morning people. I also love that they have jetted tubs in some of the rooms as it's a big part of how we selected where to stay. Overall, I feel it was more than worth the price and would have loved to stay longer!

A lovely getaway a little off the beaten path of the Outer Banks, in the historic and quiet town of Manteo (about 15 min drive from the main highway through the Banks, and all the beaches, etc.). The Inn was recently purchased and undergoing makeover by a hardworking and friendly couple--Dave and Tonia--who provided warm welcome, great service, and scrumptious gourmet style breakfasts and snacks through the day. Wonderful gluten free options, if that's a concern too. Rooms are spacious with lots of character, and the patio, porch and garden create the feeling of a small, elegant oasis. This is as good a B&B experience as we've ever had, and highly recommend a stay with them. If you want to spend a lot of time on the Outer Bank beaches, you will have to do the short drive over the big bridge to get there---but being away from the hub-bub in this gracious inn is actually a great benefit, if you prefer something more tranquil and historic. Manteo is a little village of a town, with its own history and charm--adding to the character of a stay at the White Doe.

My wife and I spent this past weekend in Manteo at the White Doe Inn to celebrate her birthday/our anniversary. We had a great time and really enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed the amenities around the house and in our room - homemade cookies in the lobby, s'mores at the fire pit, a bicycle ride, beautiful weather on our balcony, fireplace in our room, and board games on the front porch. The location is great - just a short walk to the waterfront, shops, and restaurants. Festival Park is within easy walking distance. The staff was great - Donna was super friendly and helpful, and the service at breakfast was perfect. The food at breakfast was delicious and enough to fuel us through lunch. Overall, we loved our stay and we are looking forward to coming back again.

White Doe Inn hosted my wedding last November. We chose this venue because of the variety of choices offered regarding where we could get married (the inn, the waterfront, or Nags Head beach), the convenient access to food, stays, and activities, and the flexibility of an all-inclusive wedding package. Dave, Tonia, and the White Doe staff made it such an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, Dave greeted us with a smile and made us immediately feel at home. He gave us (and all our guests) a quick tour of the inn so that we knew where everything was from the jump. We even got to see all the changes they made in the short time since he and Tonia became the new owners. It was nice to see how they updated the inn with a new sound system, better internet, a new lock system, and overall upgraded outdoor setting. They also shared with us all the plethora of plans they have for future renovations. When the issue of lighting for an outdoor afternoon wedding arose, Dave and Tonia were quick to work with us to come to a solution. They added beautiful outdoor lights that made the pergola and surrounding garden area look like straight out of a Hallmark movie. Dave, Tonia, and the White Doe staff anticipated our every need and were so accommodating. They helped us bring in our bags and all our various wedding items, worked with us for set up/cleanup, and were extremely hands on with catering, room accommodations, and the entire wedding planning process. My guests raved about the great food and service we received all weekend. Tonia curated delicious, multi-course breakfasts every morning, baked fresh cookies every day, and prepared afternoon refreshments daily. We were fed and cared for the whole weekend. For anyone looking for a beautiful and memorable experience, look no further than the White Doe Inn. My husband and I can't wait until we're able to make our way back.

Dave and Tonia embody everything we love about staying at a bed and breakfast. They are warm, welcoming, and have thoughtfully curated every detail to make the experience truly delightful. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with smiles and a heartfelt, “Come in, this house is now yours while you stay!” Check-in was seamless, and Dave gave us a tour, sharing details about happy hour and breakfast. Though busy in the kitchen, Tonia still took a moment to pop out and personally welcome us. Happy Hour was a highlight—Tonia had prepared wine, beer, and a lovely charcuterie board, even including gluten-free options for me. Nearly all the guests joined in, and the conversation flowed effortlessly. The ambiance of The White Doe Inn is simply enchanting. They have blended the historic charm of the home’s architecture with timeless and comfortable furniture choices, creating an inviting and elegant atmosphere. The mattresses were exceptionally comfortable, dressed in exquisite sheets that became a topic of conversation at breakfast—every guest was raving about them! There is also a small but engaging library filled with interesting books, adding to the inn’s cozy charm. The amenities were equally impressive. Their cappuccino and coffee machine, available at all times, made excellent drinks, and there was also a wonderful selection of hot teas. The inviting atmosphere extended outdoors, where music played softly, and there were plenty of cozy seating areas to relax and unwind. I could easily spend a week here just reading and soaking it all in. Breakfast the next morning was absolutely delicious, with special accommodations made for my wheat allergy. Many times owners will give me dressed up bacon and eggs to make sure it’s wheat free but Tonia was diligent to give me a beautiful and delicious meal like everyone else! We visit many bed and breakfasts, and I can confidently say that The White Doe Inn is my favorite stay so far. When we’re in the area again, there’s no question—we’ll be back! Thanks, Dave and Tonia! Well done.

From the moment we stepped into the White Doe Inn, we were greeted with warm smiles and cookies so good they should be illegal. Tonia and Dave’s extraordinary hospitality shines in every detail, from the beautifully renovated spaces to the impeccable service. Breakfast was an incredible gourmet experience, so delicious with simple elegance. Dave’s gracious hosting made us feel like cherished friends, and we truly appreciated hearing about their vision for the inn as they lovingly restore it. Thank you both for sharing your dream. We’ll be back, possibly in disguise for more cookies!

We are definitely coming back! Our room was beautiful - the pictures on the website told us what to expect, but seeing it in person was still breathtaking. The breakfasts were amazing, and the presentation was so good that I took pictures each day to send back to family. The owners had great recommendations for the area including some wonderful places to dine. Their attention to detail and care for their guests make this a perfect place to stay, and we will be back!

We recently returned from our five day getaway to The White Doe Inn! Wow, just wow, it was more than we had hoped! Just a lovely and serene Inn. A beautifully and meticulously renovated historical property, preserving its history while implementing modern amenities! The owners Dave and Tonia elevated our stay to perfection! They are personable and comfortable to be around. They truly want you to have the best experience and you can feel the love they have for their Inn and their guests. We enjoyed daily gourmet breakfast prepared by chef Tonia, each day was more delicious and each course was creatively presented! There was a lovely server for 2 of our days, I didn't get her name but she had dark hair and was so sweet, we chatted about our pets and Tonia's freshly made dishes, she's a gem to the Inn! After exploring the charming areas for the day, we returned to the Inn for the daily social hour, (it's actually 2 hours!) Select wines and both savory and sweet house made snacks were provided! It was great to sit and play cards, games, read a book, or socialize with other guests as well as Dave and Tonia, who share their amazing stories of how they came to own the Inn! Truly a relaxing and exceptional stay, we will definitely return! Cindy and Mike
