If you're looking for a clean, relaxing beachfront stay with old school OBX charm, look no further! The location couldn't be better, with the beach just steps away. It's the kind of place that reminds you why family owned beach motels have such a loyal following. We had a wonderful stay. Highly recommended!

We had a great stay overall! The room was very clean, and it was very easy to access the beach. The hotel is in a great location, and we really enjoyed our time there. The only issue we experienced was with the air conditioner. It was running, but no air was coming out. Since it happened in the middle of the night and we were checking out the next morning, we didn’t call. I tried turning the AC off and back on, and it would blow very cold air for about five minutes while also spitting out some water, then it would stop again. Unfortunately, the room became very hot overnight. The next morning, we planned to let the front desk know when we turned in our keys, but no one was in the office, so we just left. My sister also isn’t one to complain or make a big deal out of things, so we didn’t pursue it further. Other than the AC issue, everything else was great. The room was clean, the beach was easy to get to, and we would definitely consider staying here again.

The location of this motel is amazing. Literally inside the dunes on the beach. The rooms were small, but very clean. The staff was very nice! I feel like they went above and beyond. The parking lot is pretty tight. The pool was nice. We really enjoyed our stay.

I checked into this classic oceanfront motel during my coastal road trip and found it to be an absolute gem for a relaxed, nostalgic getaway. The location is perfect since it sits right on the dunes, allowing me to walk straight from my doorstep right onto the wide sandy beach in a matter of seconds. My vintage-style room was spotlessly clean and very well-maintained, giving off a cozy, old-school beach cottage charm that felt incredibly peaceful. The property grounds are wonderfully family-friendly with a nice refreshing outdoor swimming pool and a playground area, making it a fantastic, unpretentious spot to unwind and listen to the ocean waves without any of the noisy distractions of a major luxury resort.

My husband, my 14-year-old daughter, and I stayed from a Monday to Friday. The room was nice, basic, with two beds, a dresser, cable TV, a nice-sized fridge with a microwave, and a very nice-sized closet. The bathroom was very clean. The nicest part was the beach access. Also, I loved the fact that there were no stairs to our room, just a few to the beach. We would definitely stay again if we go back to the area. The staff was always nice and helpful. Also there is a great pizza place walking distance across street.

Family oriented motel directly on the beach with the best ocean views available in Kill Devil Hills! Used to visit once a year in the 70's for family vacations. Perfect place for any one or any families.

The only minus is there are no tvs in the bedrooms. Very cute place, great kitchen setup in cottage and I will definitely be back!!

Stay here every year when I come down for my birthday in December. This year I made the reservation for a Saturday. Not knowing that this time of the year they are closed on Saturday. Lillian reached out to me the Wednesday before. She told me about the situation of being closed. But instead of canceling my reservation. They honored it and had me all set up when I got into town. These guys are the bomb. Nice clean rooms and Outstanding customer service.

This is an old style, one story brick motel, that's right on the beach. Nothing flashy, this is the outer banks before it went crazy. I've stayed here over the years a dozen or more times and the main reason I do is because it's right on the beach. It has a swimming pool with a kiddie's pool. And did I mention that it is right on the beach?

Location is perfect! The baby pool is perfect for little ones, although the middle of the pool is deeper than the outer part of the baby pool, but nonetheless I enjoyed it being separate from the adult pool. Not much in the room to store or set things on, like a table… especially if you’re staying for the week. Next morning we had to buy air fresheners for the bathroom, there’s an odd ammonia bleach mold type smell that’s over powering, I suppose from the fact that there is no ventilation such as a fan in the bathroom, and the window is painted shut. We had a carpeted room, not sure if other rooms do, but ours did and our toddlers feet were literally black on the bottom after just an hour running around the room playing. Make sure you pack socks or sandals to wear while inside the room. The ceiling fan was covered in dust as well.
