Room was awful. Smelled musky. Room was so small, no table, mildew was on shower curtain, toilet seat would not stay up when my husband used bathroom, whole seat was wrong, when I used the bathroom I could barely wipe. Bathroom was so small when I sat on the toilet arm touched shower liner. Had dish soap for hand soap at bathroom sink which was outside the bathroom..just a horrible experience. We asked for a different room and they did offer one after arguing over the condition of ours. But we decided to take our loss for the second night and go somewhere else. I don't know about the rest of the rooms but #4 is a nightmare

I must say I really enjoyed my stay at fin and feather.the rooms were clean no bugs nowhere, it was very comfortable. We were moved to another room because of other customers that reserved our room but it was all good because we were moved to a bigger room,so I must say I recommend this place,little bit distance from anywhere and our dog Kanye enjoyed the stay as well.So thank you Fin and Feather for a nice vacation.

??? Beware: Cockroach Infestation Really disappointed during our stay here over the weekend. We visited 3 years ago and absolutely loved the location and price, but it seems to have gone downhill since then. The other reviews about the cockroaches are sadly, accurate. You’ll see a few during the evening. ? I hope management addresses the infestation. We won’t be going back.

Worst place I have ever stayed. Do yourself a favor and stay far away. Location would have been great aside from the horrible parking lot. But let's get into why its the worst. Filth and more filth. I rented two rooms and had to clean them when no one responded to my efforts to reach out. The floors covered in pet hair and sand. All surfaces were coated in grime. Bugs. Bandaid in the shower. Trash and hair everywhere. Rotting shrimp left in the fridge that had been turned off. Yea room smelled horrible. Sheets and beds were covered in pet and people hair. They refuse to acknowledge my attempts to reach out for assistance. After arriving home is when their management company wanted to grill me. They should grill the Inn and their staff. Why were their rooms in this condition for guests?! I wasn't even offered a quarter of my cost as a compensation. Also if I agreed to that measly amount I had to sign a form agreeing to not speak poorly about about them. Um what?! Great customer service I tell ya. Wow. Just wow. I booked through a third party company. So that is my fault. The reviews on that site did not disclose how disgusting this place is. Lesson learned. I just can't understand how a company is ok with these conditions. Id like to share my photos here but you can see them on yelp, expedia etc. Worst customer service and hospitality. They way it could've been handled would've made all the difference.

The staff was very communicative and easy to get ahold of for check in. The room was ready early which was nice. Check in was smooth as we had the door code on arrival without having to physically check in with anyone. Once we got everything up to the room and sat down on the bed, we noticed hair all over the comforters. Once we pulled back the sheets the hair was everywhere as well, on both beds. The room was not as pictured and had a weird odor. We immediately packed up and left. Would not recommend.

If I could rate 0 stars I would in a heartbeat. Place was AWFUL! Do not go unless you wish to have to find somewhere else to stay. Room looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. Walked in room smelled weird. There was also BLOOD on the ceiling! Dead roaches EVERYWHERE and live ones came out within 5 minutes of me being there. Along with mold on the shower curtain. A mound of dust on the windowsills and there was straight up trash left in the room. Wouldn’t wish this place on my worst enemy.

Our room was simple with a TV and nice big bathroom. The mattress was a bit dated but that's the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. The service was receptive and friendly. It was private check in and out with codes to the doors. Sound proof to filter put the traffic from the high way and perfect location to wild adventures at alligator river wildlife refuge and the beach being only 5 min from Jeanette's pier.

So I booked through Priceline. Never received a code. Had to argue with Priceline for 90 minutes. Price line said They couldn’t get hold of anyone. I hung up and called. Held for another 30 minutes. Finally got a code and there is bugs on the edge of the mattress. I am not picky. I stayed at a TRAP motel last night that had burn marks on the toilet. And they didn’t have bugs!!!

??DO NOT STAY HERE?? my husband and I took an a spontaneous vacation and decided we would stay at this(what looked like) a cute little hotel for one night and head to Williamsburg early the next morning. First impression was that it was super clean and definitely updated on the inside at least. We brought our belongings in, got dressed & headed to the beach and a few stores for souvenirs. We come back and lay down for about an hour as we planned on watching the sunset on the beach later on & everything was still okay. We head to Walmart which is about 20ish minutes away to grab some fishing gear & head back to the hotel to do some night fishing. We enter the hotel to eat and a roach the size of my hand(no exaggeration) was crawling up the wall beside the door. We were one and done , scattering things pulling dressers & night stand out and they started crawling out from underneath the bed. We’re killing them, taking pictures, videos, trying to figure out where they were coming from but there were no cracks in the wall or window seals, not even a roach nest. So my last conclusion was that they were coming in as the door opened. I kid you not as soon as we tried to exit the door they started rolling in like crackheads at a crackhouse, I immediately told my husband that we needed to gather all of our belongings and put them in our car as we were not sleeping with bugs. And we didn’t want to take them home with us either. We contacted the agents 3 times and they gave us a run around. So we decided to just fish for a little bit, as we went outback the cleaning ladies were drunk around back. After explaining why we’re weren’t staying there they kept trying to convince us it was “water bugs”. We did not drive 4 hrs from Virginia to sleep with any type of bugs PERIODD. Mind you it was 10:30pm . We had no chance in finding another hotel that late. I let the ladies inside the room to show them and they basically took over the room to party and use the bathroom in. We slept in the car because the people we talked to on the emergency line told us if we left we couldn’t get a refund. So fast foward to this morning at 9am, I called and spoke to someone who was just as confused as to why we had to stay there until 9am, and why we weren’t transferred to an actual agent last night. We had to send in photos and videos for a refund request. We left and we will never be back. Shitty service, the only thing that place has going for them is the location and view. Oh and when we pulled the dresser out to look for more roaches, there was pee everywhere underneath the dresser :) they called it “dog friendly” never bothered to clean it. This place needs to be shut down??the first red flag should have been that we had to wait over 40 minutes before checking in so that the management could ‘inspect’ the room , she walked in, looked around and closed the door and said it was good. ?ROACH MOTEL DON'T STAY HERE? My wife and I stayed at the Fin N' Feather last week from Tuesday to Sunday. We have been coming to OBX for quite some time and even got married in OBX. We had been recommended by some friends who came to the wedding to stay here. We decided to book here for our trip knowing it was on the sound and not far away from the beach side. When we arrived and checked in we realized the place inside was a bit outdated. Very small fridge, mismatched glassware and mismatched silverware. Not the worst thing but not great. The bathroom was small with soap dispensers near the sink and in the shower with no soap. Why have them if they aren't going to be filled. Bedrooms seemed fine but under closer inspection the bedding was a little spotty and some dirty spots. Not a great start! My wife went to use the bathroom and boom the first ROACH. She told me it was in the bathroom and escaped into the wall. From then on we decided to make sure all food was packed away and closed properly and that suitcases were closed tight. Throughout the week I saw ROACHES everyday at some point in the day. On Thursday it started to storm on and off and while we were sitting in the living room we heard water leaking. We thought it was just outside and ignored it. My wife went to the spare bedroom and screamed in shock because we had water all over the floor. The air conditioner was dumping water into the room and then the windows were leaking as well. With 2 extra towels that were supplied and the spare bedroom sheets we had to clean a lake of water in this bedroom. If that wasn't bad enough then the living room air conditioner started to leak as well. No we are panicking and turning all units off. When we called to get service they said it happens sometimes and that hopefully they can have someone bring new towels to us. HOPEFULLY! We made the best out of the situation and thankfully gave us more towels. Needless to say we spent most of our stay not in the hotel. When we left we called Kee's Realty and had told them about our terrible experience and asked for compensation. They put in a request and said they would get back to us. We received an email that said they would refund a LAUGHABLE $30. NOT EVEN ENOUGH TO FILL A TANK OF GAS. THEY ALSO ASKED US TO NOT LEAVE ANY DAMAGING OR BAD REVIEWS. OBVIOUSLY THEY CAN KEEP THAT MONEY THEY OBVIOUSLY NEED IT MORE THAN ME. NEVER STAY HERE EVER! DISGUSTING PLACE AND TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. BEWARE AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY! The only positive is they have a dock that you can fish on and it's close to the beach. NEVER STAY HERE AND SHAME ON THEM FOR LETTING PEOPLE DEAL WITH THIS.
