The Tranquil House Inn was a phenomenal spot to stay, the service was amazing, everyone was extremely pleasant, and the room was really nice. The Inn restaurant 1587 had some of the best food and while really busy during dinner the staff didn't miss a beat and the service was excellent. Me and my girlfriend never really left the island as the Inn was situated in the middle of downtown and everything around was just a short walk away. If you're looking for a nice quiet OBX vacation without all of the traffic and tourism during the peak season this is the place.

This has become my husband’s and I favorite place for a quick get away to just chill and relax. Small fishing town atmosphere with little shops, direct water front, for strolling along the water. Quaint little shops right across the street with a great wine shop we go to every time we are there. Fun outdoor amphitheater within walking distance of the bed and breakfast. Speaking of food great restaurant on site with free breakfast included with wine and cheese in the afternoon-Super touch btw. Great place to be highly recommend ?

We chose the Tranquil House Inn for our anniversary trip. We were not disappointed. From the moment we stepped inside we felt welcomed. Every staff member was polite courteous and so helpful with places to eat as well as the amenities granted to us during our stay. Not only did we have an amazing view of the water but it’s was so peaceful. The name of this place is so befitting. So many places to eat and shop within walking distance. We had a wonderful time and the hotel was awesome. We came down for the weekend from Hampton Roads for the fireworks which were also awesome! We had an amazing dinner at 1587 on the outside terrace and it was perfect for not only dinner but also the fireworks! Hotel was awesome and so close to all that wished to do in downtown Manteo. It was awesome to also use the pool at the resort down the road! We had an awesome time!

Chuck did an amazing job at making us feel welcome and helping us find exactly what we needed. The rooms were cute, comfortable and well appointed. The views are marvelous and downtown Manteo is the prime spot for this adorable hotel!!

Tranquil House Inn is aptly named. Our room was a quiet retreat, spotless, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The afternoon wine and cheese social was lovely and later dinner at the restaurant delicious. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful. Checking in (and out) was seamless with detailed text instructions that allowed freedom to come in our own timing. Weather was nice and we enjoyed sitting outside on the deck overlooking the harbor and later walking the boardwalk along the water. Without hesitation I give Tranquil Inn 10 stars!

Had an amazing stay at Tranquil House Inn! Beautiful building with great location and views from decks. Parking was convenient. Service was top-notch and staff were helpful and friendly. Appreciated the complementary breakfast, waters, and cheese with wine. The room was lovely, clean, and peaceful. Enjoyed the view from our window. However, a taller toilet and lower bed would be beneficial for us older folks. Enjoyed dinner at the 1587 Restaurant and Lounge. Will return to Tranquil House Inn should we revisit Manteo.

The Tranquil House Inn is truly something special. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and kindness that made us feel less like guests and more like family. The staff is simply amazing. Attentive, genuine, and the kind of people who clearly love what they do. You feel at home the minute you walk through the door. The rooms are cozy, beautifully kept, and offer breathtaking views that make it hard to leave. Waking up to the water is an experience in itself. And the restaurant? Absolutely outstanding. The food is incredible, the service is top notch, and dining with that view of the water and the boats docked nearby makes every meal feel special. The town of Manteo feels like it was pulled straight from the pages of a novel or a Hallmark movie, minus the cheesy acting. Charming, picturesque, and authentic. It is unlike anywhere we have ever been. This has quickly become my wife’s and my special place. Somewhere we know we will return to again and again to make lasting memories. If you are looking for a place that feels magical without trying too hard, this is it. We cannot wait to come back. The Waldrons

My boyfriend took me here for a night and it's like a page out of Gilmore girls. It's so cute and everything is in walking distance. The rooms are very open and homey. It's the perfect little cozy place to snuggle up and enjoy the moments. Highly recommend.

This is a small traditional inn. The rooms are delightful and clean. Each room has a gentle beachie feel. No, not spa bathrooms, not huge wasted space, just a warm beach welcome where you can relax. We love the Tranquil House. The name says it all!
