The Tranquil House Inn is truly something special. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and kindness that made us feel less like guests and more like family. The staff is simply amazing. Attentive, genuine, and the kind of people who clearly love what they do. You feel at home the minute you walk through the door. The rooms are cozy, beautifully kept, and offer breathtaking views that make it hard to leave. Waking up to the water is an experience in itself. And the restaurant? Absolutely outstanding. The food is incredible, the service is top notch, and dining with that view of the water and the boats docked nearby makes every meal feel special. The town of Manteo feels like it was pulled straight from the pages of a novel or a Hallmark movie, minus the cheesy acting. Charming, picturesque, and authentic. It is unlike anywhere we have ever been. This has quickly become my wife’s and my special place. Somewhere we know we will return to again and again to make lasting memories. If you are looking for a place that feels magical without trying too hard, this is it. We cannot wait to come back. The Waldrons

My boyfriend took me here for a night and it's like a page out of Gilmore girls. It's so cute and everything is in walking distance. The rooms are very open and homey. It's the perfect little cozy place to snuggle up and enjoy the moments. Highly recommend.

This is a small traditional inn. The rooms are delightful and clean. Each room has a gentle beachie feel. No, not spa bathrooms, not huge wasted space, just a warm beach welcome where you can relax. We love the Tranquil House. The name says it all!

My husband and I are frequent guests of The Tranquil House Inn. It is one of our very favorite places to stay during a getaway. The location is stunning, the rooms are clean and well-appointed, and the atmosphere is relaxing - even during the busiest of Manteo's celebrations. The staff is friendly and accommodating, often going above and beyond (sometimes WAY beyond) expectations. It is within walking distance of many of Manteo's amazing restaurants, shops, and attractions. If you're hungry but don't want to stray from the inn, the on-site restaurant, 1587, will never disappoint. Five stars doesn't even seem adequate for the experience we have had with each stay at The Tranquil House Inn!

Doesn't get any better if you are staying in Manteo. My 2nd trip back to visit. Ashley and Chris are my kind of people. They will take care of you. Food was great! If I had to get critical, I would have loved some warm scrambled eggs in the morning vs. a hard boiled egg. Warm eggs or not, you won't be disappointed with your stay.

I have found a new favorite hotel. The Tranquil Inn is the epitome of their name. We were traveling over a national holiday and had looked carefully for a place where we were going to be comfortable and able to spend this holiday without starving to death or unable to do anything. We knew the restaurant would be closed for the evening meal but they assured us that the complimentary continental breakfast would be available despite the holiday. We had a large room with two Queen beds on the third floor. It was roomy with two comfortable recliner style chairs a small breakfast table and chairs. The view was lovely over the waterfront and the second floor has a balcony seating area with tables and chairs to watch the sunrise or the sunset. We sat out there watching the sail boats in the sound and enjoying the Live Oak tree shadowing the porch. The rooms have keyless entry which was nice and did not require all of us to have a separate key. (I think that they keyed the lock code to our phone number and therefore very easy to remember.) The hotel is right in the center of Manteo. We walked everywhere shopping, lunch, art gallery.... We will be back!

We recently spent a weekend at this lovely property, and will certainly be going back. The service, amenities, and room were 100% on point. We enjoyed rocking on the porch overlooking the water, while sharing some wine and cheese. Further, the restaurant was fantastic! I would love to get the recipe for the delicious brown butter maple vinaigrette that was on the root vegetable salad! I highly recommend checking out The Tranquil House Inn. You will not be disappointed.

I cannot say enough about the Tranquil House Inn and its staff. Everyone was most helpful and accommodating. The room was spectacular and very comfortable. The overall feel of this location begs for a return trip. My dinner at 1587 was exceptional. I have paid a lot more for a lot less. My final thing I have to note is the view. My stay was flawless.

My room was clean, well decorated and spacious. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Location on the Manteo waterfront can’t be beat with walkability to everything! Be sure to enjoy your morning coffee on the second floor balcony overlooking the marina and the sunrise. Don’t miss dining at 1587 Lounge during your stay - everything was delicious. Highly recommend!

You can really experience the true feel of Manteo if you stay at the Tranquil House Inn. Perfect location for walking eating and shopping in a peaceful vibe that cannot be beat. And with all that the best thing is the most friendly and helpful staff. You cannot feel more at home and I cant wait to go back!
