This oceanfront inn offers a charming, classic atmosphere with upgraded bathroom amenities and pet-friendly cottages, though inconsistent property maintenance and lack of on-site staff pose significant accessibility and cleanliness issues depending on the specific unit and time of arrival.
Room was nasty. Sheets and blankets all dirty. We went home, 2.5 hours, at 1:00am because it was too dirty to sleep there. Need a refund!!!!!!!!
Location was awesome, room was dirty as if never cleaned after last quest, sand in the sheets under the sheets and duvet, eye lashes all over suspicions old looking blood stains on the sheets and duvet, no customer service after certain hours, toilet looked like it had a rust blow out ,light fixture in the shower by the shower head had exposed wires..we left in the middle of the night and came home...this trip was for my daughter's birthday..thanks for making it an awful experience..10/10 would not recommend, everything is digital, the front door has a code and along with the room, not a front desk in sight...I would not stay again. We also have pictures if needed..regards, the Hamilton family.
Old fashioned beach inn with sitting room in front and wood paneling in rooms. Bathrooms were upgraded but kept the charm with a jacuzzi tub and rain shower spout. Comfy bed and great relaxing beach atmosphere. Easy check in on the phone with service. Great vibe!
Do not use this place. The only support they offer is an automated texting service that is only monitored between the hours of 9-5. So if you arrive after 5 pm and the code they provide you doesn’t work at the front door you have no way of getting any help from the company and since there is no front desk, knocking on the door is futile cause nobody will come to let you in We ended up after 20 minutes of trying to get our front door code to work to just eating the one night stay and checking into the Marriott Townplace Suites down the street ( which is great and worth it) If you book this place and arrive after 5pm, you will be sorry . Save your $$$
We stayed here last year and it was great, besides a bad smell in the room. This year we decided to stay again and it was not as great. It is right by the beach and the inn has a very antique feel to it. Good AC and a smart tv, refrigerator and Keurig. Microwave out in the lobby. But some things I would critique, the room smelled very bad when we walked in which is strange because the lobby area was fine. I really really really wish they would get rid of the carpet in the rooms. They were so dirty I had to wear shoes to walk on it because my feet and socks would turn black. There was also a big stain on the carpet peeking out from under the bed. The clothing drawers, especially the top ones reeked of rotten fish which is disgusting. The wall was peeling a bit in some places. The bathrooms were a little bit dirty, and they only provide one small roll of toilet paper for your stay and after that you have to buy your own. Also the button for the jets in the jacuzzi tub was broken. I really recommend that they make some changes, especially please get rid of the nasty carpet in the rooms. They really should make the rooms more like the lobby. The lobby is beautifully decorated and hardwood floors with a nice rug. I really think they should invest in that and then it would be worth the price.
The pictures made this place look very appealing, but when we got there it was very deceiving. There are huge gaps under the door, so you can hear everything and everyone can hear you. The floors were stained and dirty. The room smelled like cigarettes. The bed was unstable, dusty, and had trash behind it. The caulk joints on the jacuzzi were covered in black mold. And we had a struggle figuring out how to even get into the building, being there is nobody on site. My wife and I were only at the building for 20 minutes before we booked another place. Do not book at this location.
This is a self check in hotel. No front desk. If you booked thru third party. Make sure you call them and get access code to front entrance and your room. Otherwise good luck getting into the building at all. I booked thru Chase Travel, locked outside for an hour, phone number shown on google not reachable. Till some other guests gave me a text number to ask for check in instructions. For the hour I spent standing outside the building I thought if I got scammed by this hotel or not lol. Other than that room is nice, bed comfy, and hot shower. Great location.
Great location right by the beach and close to all the shops and restaurants that I love in OBX. The place was pretty clean, the temp in the room could be controlled, and the housekeepers were super nice. My main complaint is the security of the place. The window in the room didn’t lock (and given it’s all on one floor this didn’t make me feel very safe as a young woman traveling alone.) Also, there was a key code to access the building, however if you literally just push on the doors they open because there’s a broken latch. For the amount they charge per night they could absolutely afford new windows and new latches. Wouldn’t stay here if safety is a concern for you, if I knew about these problems I likely would’ve spent the extra money on somewhere more secure.
On the last night of our stay, my husband and I stayed in the 'Nags Head Beach Inn 1 Queen Deluxe 3' room, but there was absolutely nothing "Deluxe" about it. Upon arriving we found the room to be extremely dirty, layers of dust everywhere, stains and hair left in the jacuzzi tub (i.e., neither of us have long black hair), filthy floors, no hand soap in the bathroom and a Queen size bed infested with dust mites that kept biting us all night long. The only positive aspect was the quiet location within walking distance from the beach near a couple of restaurants, creamery and putt putt course. Please avoid this establishment at all cost!
My husband and I enjoyed ourselves at the Nags Head Beach Inn. My only concern would be where do you get towels if you need extra. Our only saving grace was we had to change rooms due to heat not working so we grabbed the towels from the room not sure if there would be any in the new room. We were the only guests, had the whole place to ourselves which was nice but where do you get extra towels? Left Sunday with no shower ?????
