We had such a wonderful first stay at Surf Side Hotel in Nags Head with our family! The newly refreshed rooms were clean, comfortable, and a great place to relax after busy days. Being right on the beach was a huge bonus — the views were beautiful and the easy access made everything so simple with kids. Our favorite memories were early morning walks looking for dolphins and shells, and nighttime adventures spotting crabs on the beach. The location was perfect for exploring nearby attractions like Wright Brothers and Jockey’s Ridge. The hot breakfast was delicious and had something for everyone, which made mornings easy. The indoor pool was a lifesaver in April and the kids loved it. Little touches like popcorn and cookies were a big hit too. The staff — Jeanette, Margaret, and Ruth — were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We highly recommend this hotel and would absolutely come back!

Our stay at Surf Side Hotel was absolutely amazing! 5 stars without a doubt. The cleanliness of the rooms was outstanding — everything was spotless, fresh, and very comfortable. You can really tell they take pride in keeping the hotel in excellent condition. The beds were comfortable, and the entire room felt welcoming and relaxing for our family. The breakfast was excellent every morning, with very good variety and quality. It made starting the day so much easier, especially traveling with children. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional. Everyone treated us with kindness and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The hotel facilities were also excellent. Everything was well maintained, clean, and family-friendly. We especially loved all the complimentary touches they offer in the lobby — it made the experience feel even more special. Our kids also loved the games and activities available for children, which made the stay even better for the whole family. Overall, everything was super amazing. This hotel made our trip to Outer Banks even more memorable, and we would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

We love this place! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The room are spacious and recently renovated. The breakfast buffet was handled correctly with staff handling the food until the plate was handed to the patron. This hotel is a beach side hotel done correctly

Really nice hotel in Nags Head with a perfect location. Right on the beach with easy access from the hotel's pool deck, close to restaurants, ice cream, and all sorts of shops, and an easy drive to any of the attractions on the Outer Banks. The hotel has recently undergone renovations, and the rooms have been refreshed, so they were quite attractive. Very comfortable mattresses, and very quiet rooms. We did not hear hall noises or noise from adjoining rooms, and the hotel was booked solid during our stay. Free breakfast, and the food is a step above the free breakfasts you get in one of the big chain hotels. Don't forget to take advantage of the free popcorn, the wine and cheese every afternoon in the lobby, or the free cookies in the evening. The staff was excellent, all friendly and helpful. The only downside we experienced is that there's only one elevator in the whole place, and it's very slow, but overall our stay was excellent and the Surf Side is a great choice for anyone coming to OBX.

Surf Side Hotel is wonderful! This is our favorite hotel anywhere. Our go to when we are in the OBX. Jason and Elvia were so helpful and their Christmas Decorations made you feel like you were home for the holidays! The rooms are always so clean and the views are amazing no matter which room you’re in. The breakfast was better than any Hilton breakfast they make you pay for. Looking forward to our next visit!

Wonderful staff, very clean rooms, wine social was a nice touch along with the cookies, the staff was phenomenal ( above excellent) best customer service from checkin to breakfast to housekeeping. They are five stars. Will stay here again anytime I am visiting the area. I encourage you too also, you will not be disappointed.

I planned our daughters wedding and about a month before the big day, my husband declared that I needed a break from everything and said a vacation was in order once the wedding was over. I told him I thought it was a great idea and to pick a place...so Nags Head it was! Having never been, I utilized a great FB page and asked a bunch of strangers what hotels they recommend based on prior history. There were quite a few places mentioned and after some research, I picked Surf Side Hotel and without a doubt, I can can say that we made the correct choice. Ocean front room ? Cookies at 8pm every night ? Full breakfast, everyday ? (biscuits and sausage gravy was delicious) Wine and cheese hour ? Indoor pool and hot tub ? Comfortable beds ? Kind staff ? Clean rooms ? Ample parking ? Great location ? Everyone that we encountered was so kind. There were one very minor issue that were taken care of right away. The television in our room, it was beginning to go bad. I showed a video of the issue to the front desk and by the time we got back later that day, the old one had been replaced. Unfortunately, Mother Nature made sitting outside on the beach impossible due to Hurricanes Humberto and Imelda both churning up the waters and causing the beach flags to be Double Red! Otherwise I'd have taken full advantage of the chairs they offer for the beach. For nicer evenings, the hotel has a western facing porch with seating to be able to watch the setting sun. If we ever make it back down to Nags Head, I can definitely say that I'd sat at Surf Side again and would be looking forward to seeing the upcoming renovations the hotel has planned.

My friends and I celebrated friendships and stayed at the oceanfront condo! It as very spacious and clean. The only draw back was there are about 16 steps up. The service and staff were outstanding and responsive to any issues we had. The location is great. Looking out the balconies was beautiful. The small extras like the cookies and wine and cheese were great.

Will definitely be booking here every time I come to Outer Banks!! Our room was perfect for two adults and our 3 kids. Super clean everywhere in the hotel and the bathrooms always smell good! Love the different things they do for guests in the lobby…free popcorn, wine, sweet tea, lemonade, cheese and grapes and they do chocolate chip cookies. The pool area outside is very nice and clean. The walkway to the beach is amazing. Just all around great!! 100/10 recommend!!

We have stayed in many hotels in the OBX area and this place is the best by far. The staff was amazing. The rooms are clean and very spacious. Both pools nice and clean. The breakfast was top notch. Definitely looking forward to another stay there in the near future
