First time staying here. Absolutely loved it. 100% will be back in the future. I dealt with 3 different front desk employees and every single one was so nice. Special shout out to the front desk associate Jason who was super cool and friendly, I had great conversations with, and he even recommended a phenomenal place to eat close to Manteo. Thank you Jason!!The lady working the breakfast buffett each morning was incredibly nice, the housekeeping employees was super friendly. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better first experience. A clean, family friendly hotel! My husband and I stayed for a romantic getaway and it did not disappoint. The room was spacious with a balcony view of the ocean. The pool area was clean and well kept. Beach access is very convenient. The hotels location is close to local restaurants and a grocery store. It was perfect for what we were looking for!

What a delightful hotel! The location is amazing, right on the beach with an indoor and outdoor pool. I was very impressed by the friendly hotel staff, especially their breakfast service staff. We only stayed for 2 nights and the breakfast was exceptional and delicious both times. Our room was cozy and spacious with comfortable beds. This is random but the water pressure was fantastic in the bathroom. I would absolutely stay here again!

Our family and friends booked several rooms here for the long Fourth of July weekend, and overall we had a great stay. The location is perfect, and the breakfast was delicious with plenty of options each morning. We also loved taking evening walks to Booty Treats for ice cream—definitely recommend stopping by! My only complaint was that beach nourishment construction was taking place directly at the hotel's beach access when we arrived. For the first two days, we had to use a public beach access instead, which was a bit inconvenient. I understand the construction was completely outside of the hotel's control, but I do wish guests had been notified before arrival. A simple email or courtesy notice would have allowed us to make an informed decision, especially since holiday weekend rates are so expensive. Without direct beach access, it was definitely frustrating for our group. Thankfully, by the Fourth of July, the construction had moved farther down the beach, and we were able to enjoy the convenience of walking straight from the hotel to the beach for the rest of our stay. Despite that inconvenience, we still had a wonderful time overall.

Surf side hotel is the best hotel to stay at in nags head. All the staff was polite and respectful when we arrived. It was my first time in nags head and surf side made us feel comfortable there. I was pleased on how everything was. The breakfast was amazing, the front desk staff was amazing as well but I had to call them about getting some more extra towels in my room for a family of 5 and they were on it in getting me extra towels. The room had a perfect ocean view. I believe nags head is going to be my go to beach for vacation. I’m very happy, pleased and thankful on how Surf side treated me and my family! They get a 5?????????? Thank you so much on everything and will be seeing you surf side staff next year in 2027.

We had such a wonderful first stay at Surf Side Hotel in Nags Head with our family! The newly refreshed rooms were clean, comfortable, and a great place to relax after busy days. Being right on the beach was a huge bonus — the views were beautiful and the easy access made everything so simple with kids. Our favorite memories were early morning walks looking for dolphins and shells, and nighttime adventures spotting crabs on the beach. The location was perfect for exploring nearby attractions like Wright Brothers and Jockey’s Ridge. The hot breakfast was delicious and had something for everyone, which made mornings easy. The indoor pool was a lifesaver in April and the kids loved it. Little touches like popcorn and cookies were a big hit too. The staff — Jeanette, Margaret, and Ruth — were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We highly recommend this hotel and would absolutely come back!

Our stay at Surf Side Hotel was absolutely amazing! 5 stars without a doubt. The cleanliness of the rooms was outstanding — everything was spotless, fresh, and very comfortable. You can really tell they take pride in keeping the hotel in excellent condition. The beds were comfortable, and the entire room felt welcoming and relaxing for our family. The breakfast was excellent every morning, with very good variety and quality. It made starting the day so much easier, especially traveling with children. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional. Everyone treated us with kindness and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The hotel facilities were also excellent. Everything was well maintained, clean, and family-friendly. We especially loved all the complimentary touches they offer in the lobby — it made the experience feel even more special. Our kids also loved the games and activities available for children, which made the stay even better for the whole family. Overall, everything was super amazing. This hotel made our trip to Outer Banks even more memorable, and we would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

We love this place! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The room are spacious and recently renovated. The breakfast buffet was handled correctly with staff handling the food until the plate was handed to the patron. This hotel is a beach side hotel done correctly

Really nice hotel in Nags Head with a perfect location. Right on the beach with easy access from the hotel's pool deck, close to restaurants, ice cream, and all sorts of shops, and an easy drive to any of the attractions on the Outer Banks. The hotel has recently undergone renovations, and the rooms have been refreshed, so they were quite attractive. Very comfortable mattresses, and very quiet rooms. We did not hear hall noises or noise from adjoining rooms, and the hotel was booked solid during our stay. Free breakfast, and the food is a step above the free breakfasts you get in one of the big chain hotels. Don't forget to take advantage of the free popcorn, the wine and cheese every afternoon in the lobby, or the free cookies in the evening. The staff was excellent, all friendly and helpful. The only downside we experienced is that there's only one elevator in the whole place, and it's very slow, but overall our stay was excellent and the Surf Side is a great choice for anyone coming to OBX.

Surf Side Hotel is wonderful! This is our favorite hotel anywhere. Our go to when we are in the OBX. Jason and Elvia were so helpful and their Christmas Decorations made you feel like you were home for the holidays! The rooms are always so clean and the views are amazing no matter which room you’re in. The breakfast was better than any Hilton breakfast they make you pay for. Looking forward to our next visit!
